Description
The A4988 is a compact microstepping driver module designed to translate simple digital pulses from your STM32 into the complex coil-energizing sequences required to spin a stepper motor.
-
Product Description: It allows you to control a bipolar stepper motor using just two pins on your microcontroller: STEP and DIR (Direction). It also features microstepping capabilities, allowing you to break down a single 1.8° step into 16 smaller microsteps for buttery-smooth motion.
-
Key Specifications: Operating voltage from 8V to 35V. It handles up to 1A per phase without cooling, or 2A with a heat sink. It includes an onboard potentiometer to adjust the current limit manually.
-
Visual Identification: A tiny rectangular printed circuit board (commonly red or green) with a small square black chip in the center, a tiny silver potentiometer screw in one corner, and two rows of header pins underneath.
